Parliamentarian's solidarity correspondence

Below we see the interesting correspondence between members of the Stirling and District Chilean Solidarity Committee, working in conjunction with local MPs such as Dennis Canavan, Harry Ewing and Martin O’Neill, and members of the Thatcher’s Government, seen here doing their best to bring the dictator Pinochet into the international community despite the brutal repression taken place in the Chile during the 1970s and 1980s. It is interesting to see: Dennis Canavan’s letter (1st of April 1984) addressed to the Pinochet’s Chilean ambassador to London Mr Francisco Orrego V and Orrego’s response to Dennis’ letter (4th of May 1984). People from the beautiful city of Stirling worked hard on behalf of the People of Chile, by engaging in political discussion the powerful people found in the Thatcher government.

Abajo vemos una muy interesante correspondencia entre el comité de Solidaridad con Chile en Stirling, trabajando en conjunto con algunos miembros del Parlamento Británico de la zona de Stirling: Dennis Canavan, Harry Ewing and Martin O’Neill, y miembros del Gobierno de Margaret Thatcher haciendo lo posible por rehabilitar de la mejor manera la dictadura de Pinochet. Leyendo la correspondencia uno se cuenta del duro trabajo que tenían que hacer, por el Pueblo de Chile, los miembros de la solidaridad incluidos los miembros escoceses en el parlamento Británico.
